Everyone has various roles and responsibilities to fulfil. The author writes about the commitments he's made to myself.

In my previous post, I'd mentioned that we live in an age of constant distractions. By the end of the post, I realised that even though the solutions might not be quick and easy, but they surely lie within us.

Following that realisation, here, I jot down the things I want to commit to myself, the idea is to:

  • Make public my journey and what I want from myself.
  • Put my wants on paper, so as to help structure my thoughts.
  • Finally, to track my progress against myself.

This is a deeply personal post and as you can see, it revolves around me, myself and I. The post, even though public, is written entirely for my sake, i.e, to fulfil my needs and achieve my wants. However, I do feel this post has something to offer you, dear reader. Re-read the points I've mentioned above and think of yourself when you read the words "my", and the rest shall follow.

The following are the things I commit to myself. Here we go!

The following is the lookup table for the type field in the above table:

H High - Must follow
M Medium - Better to follow
L Low - Good to have but not important

My aim with this post is the align my wants and my present. To reach this feat, constant nudging, tracking and motivation is required. This is my first step towards that. To know your wants and needs are important. It is only from knowing them that you can define your goals and systematically achieve them.

Consistency is key, as they say #PowerOfCompounding. Here's the punchline: If you get one percent better each day for one year, you'll end up 37 times better by the time you're done.

PS: The post will get updated frequently to keep track of my progress.
